Apple has unveiled its latest offering, the 24″ iMac, powered by the new M3 chip, at its “Scary fast” event. This new iMac promises to deliver a significant performance boost, coupled with enhanced memory and ray tracing capabilities.

Key Features and Specifications:

M3 Chip: The new M3 chip makes the iMac up to 2x faster than its M1 predecessor, 2.5x quicker than the Intel-based 27″ iMac, and 4x faster than the Intel-based 21.5″ iMac.

Memory and Storage: The M3 iMac running macOS Sonoma offers increased memory options. The 8-core GPU variant comes with 8GB, 16GB, and 24GB RAM options and storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB SSD. The 10-core GPU model also offers a 2TB storage option, with a base storage of 512GB.

Connectivity: The 8-core GPU model features two Thunderbolt 3/USB 4 ports, while the 10-core GPU variant adds two USB-3 ports. The iMac also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Gigabit Ethernet (available on the 10-core GPU models and configurable on the 8-core GPU version).

Eco-friendly Design: Apple emphasizes its commitment to sustainability, with the M3 iMac constructed using 100% recycled aluminum, rare earth magnets, and recycled tin soldering. The plating also uses 100% recycled gold, marking a first for an iMac.

Colors and Accessories: The 8-core GPU variant is available in blue, green, pink, and silver, while the 10-core GPU model adds yellow, orange, and purple to the mix. Both models come with color-matched wallpapers and accessories.

Pricing and Availability:

The base 8-core GPU M3 iMac is priced at $1,299, and the 10-core GPU model starts at $1,499. Both versions are now available for order on Apple’s official website in 27 countries, with shipping set to commence on November 7.
